The same person had reported his daughter Nyasa Ekka missing two months prior. Vishwanath stated in the missing complainant that his daughter vanished on June 29 after leaving the school.

Digital Desk: According to authorities, an 11-year-old girl from Chhattisgarh's Surguja district was allegedly slain by her parents because they failed to prepare meals.

According to the police, the crime happened on June 29 and the victim's body was found in a neighbouring woodland on August 27. Officials stated that the parents were detained on Monday.

The police claim that on August 27, Vishwanath Ekka of the village of Khala notified them that his daughter's skeleton had been discovered on top of a hill, deep within the forest.

The same person had reported his daughter Nyasa Ekka missing two months prior. Vishwanath stated in the missing complainant that his daughter vanished on June 29 after leaving the school.

Following the body's recovery on August 27, police launched an investigation and enlisted the help of forensic investigators.

"The examination into the crime scene indicated that the perpetrators may have tried to pass off the death as a suicide, but the facts revealed otherwise. According to the postmortem report we received, the body may have suffered from nose and skull fractures. We then began interviewing the family members, according to Inspector General of Police for the Surguja Range, Ajay Yadav.

Police discovered inconsistencies in the parents of the deceased's claims because they didn't receive a clear explanation for how they located the body.

The missing girl kid had not been to school since June 24, according to the school attendance record, but the family had been providing false information, claiming that their daughter had vanished on June 29.

After prolonged questioning, the parents admitted that a small matter led to the murder.

"On the day of the incident, Vishwanath questioned his daughter about why she hadn't let the cattle out to graze before asking her to cook him some dinner, which she had not done.  Vishwanath began abusing her daughter, which caused head injuries and her death. The body was hidden inside the home by Vishwanath's wife Dilso, who later disposed of it in the jungle in the evening, according to the IG, who also claimed that the girl's parents had been harsh toward her.

To be clear, unless it is supported by further evidence, a confession or disclosure statement made by any person to a police officer is not admissible as evidence in court. The only admissible evidence against an accused person is a confession made in front of a court.

Both the accused were arrested under Sections 302 (Murder) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sent to judicial custody, the IG added.
