Digital Desk: An estimated 60-foot abandoned bridge in Rohtas, Bihar, has been stolen by a gang of thieves in broad daylight. Gas cutters and earthmover machines were used to demolish the bridge by the thieves, who posed as officials from the irrigation department and escaped with the scrap metal.

During the last few days, villagers have told irrigation department engineers that people pretending to be irrigation department officials have uprooted the bridge, using machines like JCB and gas-cutters. The FIR has been filed, Mr Shamshi said.

According to Mr Shamshi, villagers reported that people posing as officials of the irrigation department came to destroy the dilapidated and abandoned canal bridge using JCB machines and gas cutters.
