The complaint emphasizes the validity of these allegations and urges the Chief Election Commissioner to initiate an inquiry

Digital Desk: A formal complaint filed with the Chief Election Commissioner at the Election Commission of India has brought to light accusations of government employees breaching the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

The complainant, opposition leader Debabrata Saikia, has expressed concerns over two government officials allegedly involved in political campaigning, with reports circulating on social media and in newspapers.

Dr. Binita Saikia Gogoi, a librarian at Sonari Commerce College in Assam's Chariadeo district, is accused of openly supporting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while Shri Rituraj Konwar, a subject teacher at Nazira Higher Secondary School, is alleged to have actively participated in political campaigns for the BJP.

The complaint emphasizes the validity of these allegations and urges the Chief Election Commissioner to initiate an inquiry and take the necessary legal action to enforce the MCC regulations applicable to government employees.

The Election Commission is expected to launch an investigation into the matter to determine the validity of the allegations and to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
