Guwahati: The Government of Railway Police (GRP) arrested three interstate thieves from Assam who robbed two passengers travelling in a railway coach.

Additionally, GRP seized around Rs. 10.60 lakhs from them.

Reportedly, a team of GRF led by PI Vikas Kanpalliwar arrested the trio identified as Nayanmuni Medhi (26), Deepjyoti Medhi (22) and Sanjay Rathi (28) from Gondia after they robbed two female passengers in the coach.

Reports reveal that the trio had dozens of cases in Tamil Nadu.

The GRP team had camped in Assam for 20 days under SP M Rajkumar's supervision to arrest the trio in a well-planned operation.

According to the report, the police apprehended one of the thieve based on the information given by his girlfriend, leading to the arrest of the two others.
