Digital Desk: A dengue patient in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj died in a hospital after allegedly being injected with mosambi (sweet lime) juice instead of plasma. According to accounts, the incident was not an accident, but the work of a sham blood bank unit in the state that defrauds patients by substituting 'mosambi' juice for the more expensive plasma while charging them for the latter.

Because plasma and mosambi juice are similar in color and content, they can easily trick people.

On social media, a video exposing the racquet has gone viral. According to sources, a police inquiry has been launched following the death of a dengue patient who had been exposed to bogus or phoney plasma.

The incident occurred amid an increase in dengue cases in Uttar Pradesh. The Allahabad High Court instructed the Municipal Corporation Lucknow to inform it of the efforts taken to control and prevent dengue on Wednesday, October 19.

A petition alleges the development of the dengue virus in the city and accuses state officials of neglecting to control or prevent it. In response to the petition, the HC Bench asked the authorities to assist the local administration by providing staff, machinery, or finances.

The order was issued by a Bench of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Jaspreet Singh on Ashish Mishra's PIL.

On October 21, the court ordered the state to explain why IT solutions are not being used for the acquisition and use of drugs in various government hospitals throughout the state.
