Digital Desk: Shital Mahajan, a well-known Indian skydiver, has set a new world record by becoming the first woman to attempt a jump from a helicopter at a height of 21,500 feet in front of Mt Everest.
On November 13, Mahajan aged 41 years, a recipient of India's fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, and holder of multiple skydiving records, finished skydiving on the front side of Mt. Everest, the world's highest peak.

On November 11, Mahajan performed her first jump from 5,000 feet AGL at a remarkable 17,500 feet height, landing safely at 12,500 feet at Syangboche airfield with famed New Zealand skydiver Wendy Smith serving as her instructor within the plane.
Shital Mahajan on November 12 performed a flag leap with the Indian flag from 8,000 feet at Syangboche airport with skydiving legends Camerawomen Wendy Elizabeth Smith and Nadia Solovyeva, breaking the national record for the highest flag skydiving landing by a woman.
