Digital Desk: The body of Nimisha Thakuria, a student of Gauhati University and a resident of Dharapur, was recovered last night from a homestay in the Garal area.
According to reports, Nimisha, the elder daughter of Deep Thakuria, left her home at around 11 PM with a friend.
The situation took a distressing turn when she placed a final call to her mother, alleging that her friend was physically abusing her.
Her phone was switched off immediately following the call.
Upon being alerted by the family, the Azara Police launched a search and discovered Nimisha's body at a homestay named Rudra's Kitchen in Garal.
The body has been sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a post-mortem examination.
A police investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances of her death and identify those involved in the incident.
