Mother Dairy has also increased the price of double-toned milk by Rs 2 per litre, to Rs 47 per litre, from Rs 45 per liter...

Digital Desk: Mother Dairy announced on Monday that it would increase milk prices by Rs 2 per litre starting on Tuesday (December 27) in the Delhi-NCR market due to rising input costs. In a statement, Mother Dairy said it raised full-cream milk prices by Rs 2 to Rs 66 per litre, while toned milk prices were raised to Rs 53 per litre from Rs 51 per litre. On the other hand, Mother Dairy said that the price of cow milk and token milk variants has not been revised.

"It is an unprecedented year for the dairy industry. We have been witnessing a significant increase in demand for milk and milk products from both consumers and institutions, even after festivals. On the other hand, procurement of raw milk has also not picked up after Diwali as was anticipated," the company said.

Mother Dairy has also increased the price of double-toned milk by Rs 2 per litre, to Rs 47 per litre, from Rs 45 per liter. However, the company decided not to raise the prices of cow milk and token (bulk vended) milk varieties.

Notably, this is the fifth time this year that big milk supplier Mother Dairy in Delhi-NCR has raised milk rates. In November, Mother Dairy raised the price of full-cream milk and token milk in Delhi-NCR by Rs 1 and Rs 2, respectively, claiming an increase in input costs.
