According to an activist's complaint, the song encourages vulgar behaviour in young people and may disturb social order...

Digital Desk: A letter of complaint has been issued to Mumbai police demanding the registration of a FIR in connection with the saffron outfits worn by actor Deepika Padukone in the song 'Besharam Rang' in the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Pathaan', an official said on Monday.

The complaint was filed on Saturday against the film's producer, director, and lead cast for allegedly hurting people's religious sensibilities and "deliberate" usage of the colour saffron to disrespect Hindu faith, according to a Sakinaka police station official.

The complaint by an activist stated the song promotes vulgarity among the youth and could potentially cause law and order disruptions in society, the official added.

The song has sparked demonstrations from some right-wing organisations, with effigies of Khan and others set on fire in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and elsewhere.

In fact, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra objected to the colour of the costumes worn by the cast in the song.
