Prime Minister Modi will dedicate 'Mahakal Lok,' a 900-metre-long corridor, to the nation as part of the Rs 856-crore Mahakaleshwar Temple corridor project.

Digital Desk: After the spectacular Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reveal a similar project in Ujjain on Tuesday.

Modi will dedicate to the country the first phase of the Rs 856-crore Mahakaleshwar Temple corridor, known as 'Mahakal Lok.'

The road coils the old Rudrasagar Lake, which has been resurrected as part of the redevelopment effort surrounding the ancient Shiva temple.

Nandi Dwar and Pinaki Dwar, two gateways, have been created towards the beginning of the hallway that leads to the temple's entrance.

Among the major highlights of the Mahakal Lok are 108 ornate pillars made of intricately carved sandstones, gushing fountains, and a running panel of more than 50 murals depicting stories from the 'Shiv Puran,' as well as statues and murals of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti, among other religious figures.

The state government has made extensive preparations for the great occasion, with the Congress taking credit for the corridor's refurbishment.

Congress officials asserted that the building began during the Kamal Nath administration and that the temple was rebuilt as a result of his efforts. The BJP denied the claim, claiming that the approach was developed in 2017 under Shivraj Singh Chauhan's tenure as chief minister.
