Judge R D Deshpande of the additional session’s court ruled that Khan should be released on a guarantee of Rs. 1,000,000.

Digital Desk: Actor Sheezan Khan was granted bail in the Tunisha Sharma death case and was released from Thane Central Jail on Sunday. Khan was picked up by his family as he was leaving the jail premises. Other pictures show Sheezan's sister and mother, Kehekshan Parveen were emotional as they hugged him.

The pictures were sent by ANI to their Twitter account along with the message, "Maharashtra | Television actor Sheezan Khan accused in television actress Tunisha Sharma's suicide case released on bail from Thane Central Jail today"

Sheezan Khan received bail on Saturday. Sheezan Khan, a television actor, was granted bail on Saturday by a court in Vasai, Maharashtra's Palghar district, after he was detained for allegedly helping his co-star Tunisha Sharma commit suicide last year. According to a PTI report, Sharma allegedly hanged herself on December 24, 2022, on the set of a TV show close to Valiv in Palghar. Khan (28), who had been reported by Sharma's mother, was taken into custody the next day.

Judge R D Deshpande of the additional session’s court ruled that Khan should be released on a guarantee of Rs. 1,000,000. The actor was also asked not to leave the country without the court's prior approval, and the court ordered him to hand over his passport.

The applicant had requested release for several reasons, including that the chargesheet in the case had already been submitted and the investigation was complete, according to Khan's attorney, Sharad Rai. He further contended that this case is exempt from punishment under section 306 of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) (abetment to suicide).

Khan claimed that he was not in the room when Sharma killed her, but Sanjay More, a special public prosecutor, refuted this claim. Khan and Sharma, who once dated but later broke up, were co-stars in the television series Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul.
