Digital Desk: Following a day of political drama and suspense, reports have been emerging that Siddaramaiah will once again serve as the chief minister of Karnataka. As per reports, the decision was taken after a large number of MLAs voted in support of Siddaramaiah, prompting his opponent, DK Shivakumar, to lose the top position.

Earlier in the day, a power struggle erupted between the two top Congress leaders over power sharing. Siddaramaiah proposed a power-sharing arrangement in which he would serve as chief minister for two years and DK Shivakumar for the subsequent three years. However, Shivakumar opposed the plan, citing examples from Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, where the chief minister was selected by the party's high command.
