As said by Badruddin Ajmal, Assamese Muslims are keeping the Assamese language alive...

Digital Desk: As stated by All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) president Badruddin Ajmal, Muslim people in Assam are keeping the Assamese language alive.

He stated at an event in Dhubri, "The tradition of the Assamese language has been preserved, and it has also been protected by Muslims in Assam. That is something I can argue with. Even after that, Assamese people refer to us as Bangladeshis in an instant."

"I contest the claim that we Muslims have kept Assamese alive in Assam. We have preserved and conserved the Assamese language's legacy. However, Assamese people quickly refer to us as Bangladeshis "Ajmal remarked sarcastically.

According to Ajmal, Assamese is not taught in Bangladesh. "How can a Bangladeshi learn that language?" he questioned.

According to the AIUDF leader, Muslim families in Assam's Char areas send their children to Assamese-medium schools.

"The issue is that our (Muslim) people send their children to Assamese medium schools, but they don't speak Assamese at home," he explained.

Meanwhile, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika has criticized Ajmal's comments. He stated, "This is an absurd claim. I've discovered that Badruddin Ajmal speaks half Assamese and a little Bengali and Hindi."

Hazarika also questioned Ajmal's ability to speak Assamese like him.

"There is no need for Badruddin Ajmal to protect our language because Assamese people know how to protect and preserve it," the BJP minister remarked.
