Digital Desk: As the political situation in Maharashtra continues, a video of Shiv Sena rebel leader Eknath Shinde speaking to the media has gone viral on social media.

Some internet viewers wondered if the MLA was inebriated because the video gave the impression that he couldn't speak or walk correctly.

However, the clip is expertly altered to provide the wrong impression. Only a little more than 30 seconds of a conversation that lasted more than two minutes was recorded.

A more thorough account of the same meeting reveals that Shinde was truly shocked by the rapid rush of media members and needed some time to collect himself.

Due to the mass around him, Shinde was having problems standing. After that, he regained control and interacted with the media in a typical manner.

According to reports, the dissident MLA has been travelling between Guwahati, Assam, and Vadodara, Gujarat, in order to meet with former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis.

Shinde paused for a moment or two to collect his thoughts, possibly due to fatigue from the journey.

Since he has staged a hostile takeover of the Shiv Sena and is largely liable for the potential overthrow of the MVA administration, it is amusing to envision him being intoxicated during the meeting, but it is very likely not the case.

It doesn't make sense that he would be so stupid as to engage with the media while inebriated.
