Digital Desk: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Friday inaugurated five different development projects worth Rs.52 crore in Nagaland.

The projects include building Atal Tinkering Labs for Rs 1 crore 80 lakh in nine government higher secondary schools, installing Virtual Reality (VR) laboratories in 42 government higher secondary schools, building a 12.5 megawatt (MV) sub-station at Chiephobozou at Rs 8 crore, trekking and base camps at Mount Saramati, Thanamir Village, and Kiphire, and building a two-lane bridge on the Doyang River for Rs 28 crores.

The Union Home Minister addressed the gathering and noted that Nagaland is a region where various tribes' cultures come together.

"Nagaland is one of the 25 renowned biodiversity zones in the world, endowing it with enormous tourism potential. Additionally, Nagaland is well-known throughout the world for its people, culture, and the equitable treatment of women there," he stated.

Amit Shah claimed that the three P's of peace, progress, and prosperity have been established in Nagaland by the government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Modi's efforts to integrate Northeast India into the mainstream, saying that "Modiji has visited the different states of the Northeast more than 51 times in the last eight years and has also made a very successful effort to connect this region with the mainstream of India by giving big infrastructure projects to Northeast which has brought the results as well."

In addition, Amit Shah stated that when compared to the eight-year period from 2004 to 2014, when the previous central government was in power, money provided to Nagaland by the Indian government had increased by a factor of four over that time.

He added that just Rs. 1,283 crores were allotted to Nagaland in 2009–2010, but that the 15th Finance Commission has made a provision of Rs. 4,773 crores for Nagaland in 2022–23. In addition, special assistance of Rs. 219 crores has been offered to Nagaland in 2021–22.
