According to the SP of Tirupati, all the injured passengers were admitted to a nearby hospital.

Digital Desk: On Saturday night, a major road accident happened on Bhakarapet Ghat Road in Andhra Pradesh's Chittur District. Reportedly, seven people were killed and 45 were injured when an out-of-control bus carrying 50 members of a wedding party crashed into a valley.  According to ANI, the accident occurred in Bakrapeta, about 25 kilometers from Tirupati. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Tirupati, the bus fell from the cliff into the gorge due to the driver's negligence. The injured have been taken to Tirupati's Sri Venkateshwara Ramachandra Ruia Hospital. The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a 2 lakh ex-gratia to the victims' families in the Tirupati accident. According to reports, the passengers on the bus were on their way to an engagement ceremony on Sunday morning. The Bus was coming from Dharmavaram of Anantapur District and was heading to Tirupati. The bus crashed into a 100-foot-deep pit. Soon after the accident, Tirupati-based medical teams rushed to the scene. According to the SP of Tirupati, all the injured passengers were admitted to a nearby hospital. Reportedly, the accident is also said to have gone unnoticed for nearly two hours as the bus was not visible in the dark. The police were alerted when some passengers heard the voices of the ailing passengers from the bus. As the surroundings were pitch black, the police and nearby villagers began the rescue operation with the support of a torch and small lights.  Notably, this is not Andhra Pradesh's first major bus accident this year. In February 2022, nine people, including six women and two children, were killed in a tragic accident in which a car and a truck collided at Budagavi village in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district.
