Digital Desk: The All Assam Student Union (AASU) demonstrated on the streets of Guwahati on Friday morning, seeking compensation for those injured in the waterpipe burst case in Kharguli. The situation in Guwahati's Kharguli region remains dire after a municipal body's water supply pipe fractured and burst on Thursday afternoon, causing a massive water surge. 

Following the event yesterday, a woman was killed and numerous individuals were injured. Gammon JICA looks after the pipeline. The force of the water also wrecked several residences and automobiles.

Sumitra Rabha Das, the deceased, was killed when the forcibly rushing water from the pipe crashed on her house and demolished it. Rabha was killed after getting stuck in the rubble of the house. The event also wounded the victim's two daughters. Water was splashed several feet away as a result of the occurrence, creating a flood-like situation in the area. At least 600 people were killed in the catastrophe, leading authorities to act quickly and transport the injured to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for rapid medical attention.

visited the site on Friday night to assess the situation. Mrigen Sarania, the Mayor of Guwahati, too made a beeline for the damaged area. Ashok Singhal, an Assam minister, has also requested a thorough investigation into the JICA water supply pipe burst last night. 

Furthermore, Kamrup (metropolitan) DC Pallav Gopal Jha paid a visit to the incident scene at Kharguli yesterday night.
