MLA Akhil Gogoi refused to leave the House and displayed a sign, prompting Marshals to pull him outside. Then, the Governor delivered the rest of his 38-page address.

Digital Desk:  Raijor Dal chief and independent MLA Akhil Gogoi was suspended from the Assam Assembly on Monday for continuously raising the subject of the BJP government's promise to hire one lakh youngsters during Governor Jagdish Mukhi's address on the opening day of the Budget session. Gogoi was requested to leave the House for the duration of the Governor's speech by Speaker Biswajit Daimary. Gogoi refused to leave the House and displayed a banner, prompting Marshals to pull him outside. The Governor, Jagdish Mukhi, read the remainder of his 38-page address. "To fulfil one of the primary election pledges, the administration has started the process of providing one lakh jobs to our youth," Jagdish Mukhi added. Mukhi went on to say that the state administration is taking different initiatives to recruit young people for various positions. While Mukhi spoke, MLA Akhil Gogoi tried to discuss other topics such as paddy procurement from farmers, indigenous land rights, and corruption in the water delivery scheme. He sat down every time the speaker requested that he not interrupt the Governor's address. The speaker revoked Gogoi's suspension after the House reassembled the Governor's address.
