After Hima Das, Lovlina Borgohain, and Nayanmoni Saikia, Birdie is 4th international player to be appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

Digital Desk: Birdie Boro makes history by being the first international player to pass the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) written examinations on Friday. 

Birdie finished 66th in the APSC Combined Competitive Examination 2020. 

After Hima Das, Lovlina Borgohain, and Nayanmoni Saikia, he is the fourth international player to be appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). 

President of the Assam Table Tennis Association Pijush Hazarika, Secretary Tridib Duarah, and other members congratulated him on his outstanding and historic feat. 

Boro is an international player and former national champion who represented India on the national team from 2010 to 2018.

He attended Mayoor School in Ajmer, Rajasthan, and trained at PSPB Table Tennis Academy. He earned his bachelor's degree in philosophy from St. Stephen College in New Delhi. 

Before covid, he was trained in Germany and competed in international and national events in the German league. Since 2011, he has also been immersed as a sportsperson in Oil. 

According to accounts, he opted to pursue public services during the Covid - 19 blackout, when all athletic activities were halted internationally. 

He did, however, pass the reputable exam on the first try, which is commendable.
