Digital Desk: Amidst rising concerns over inflation and price hikes in Assam, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MLA Prasanta Phukan addressed the media during an ongoing Assam Legislative Assembly session. He responded firmly to a question regarding the state government's substantial expenditure on air travel in the midst of inflation.

Phukan, representing the Dibrugarh constituency, expressed frustration at being repeatedly questioned about price increases. He questioned the media's persistent focus on this issue, saying, "Why do you ask me about the price rise? You had even asked me the same question yesterday and the day before. Don't you have any other questions, or are you not updated enough?"

Asserting his confidence, Phukan stated, "You cannot harm me or my political career even a bit with these questions." He also emphasized the importance of the media as the fourth pillar of democracy, stressing that its honor must be upheld as it plays a crucial role in maintaining democracy.

Phukan concluded by stating, "You can publish my statement in any way you want. I do not care, and I am right in my own way."

The exchange highlights the ongoing debate and concern among the public and political leaders about rising prices and inflation in Assam, with differing opinions on how the government is addressing these economic challenges.
