The aircraft, which was travelling toward China, reportedly entered Indian airspace with an alarm that was communicated to Indian authorities.

Digital Desk: The Indian Air Force (IAF) scrambled fighter jets in regard to a bomb threat aboard an Iranian passenger plane with a final destination of China above Indian territory on Monday. After approval, the passenger jet was given permission to head toward China. The carrier, Mahan Air, announced that the plane had arrived "safely on time" at around 2.45 IST.

"After receiving the information, IAF jets were scrambled, and we followed them while keeping a safe distance in accordance with SOPs. However, after Iranian agencies begged us to disregard the threat, the aircraft was permitted to continue its flight into China "IAF officials said. Sources also stated that the plane has exited Indian airspace at this time.

"Following a bomb threat for an emergency landing at Delhi, Mahan Air called Delhi airport ATC while travelling from Tehran, Iran to Guangzhou, China. The aircraft's pilot declined Delhi ATC's suggestion to fly to Jaipur and exited Indian airspace " ATC sources reported.

The aircraft, which was travelling toward China, reportedly entered Indian airspace with an alarm that was communicated to Indian authorities. Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jets from the airfields in Jodhpur and Punjab were pressed by the IAF. Uncertainty persists on the threat's nature within the airplane. The aircraft was permitted to continue heading toward China after receiving clearance, though.

Data from the open-source monitoring tool flight radar revealed that the plane descended over the Delhi-Jaipur airspace before leaving Indian territory.
