Digital Desk: Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a Congress member in the Lok Sabha, wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, urging him to allow hybrid classes because schoolchildren are still unvaccinated against COVID-19. In his letter to the prime minister, he claimed that covaxin and covishield were in short supply and that most children under the age of 18 were unprotected.
Many cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported in people under the age of 18, according to Chowdhury. "They haven't been vaccinated either. Parents are hesitant to use other brands due to a lack of Covishield or Covaxin due to a lack of supply. In this regard, I attempted but failed to contact the Minister of Education, "Chowdhury elaborated.
As a result, "I respectfully request that you require hybrid classes (online and offline) for children with parental consent and make Covishield and Covaxin doses available to them," he wrote in his letter. After two years of online classes, Chowdhury brought the prime minister's attention to children attending school in the current heatwave.
