Digital Desk: Due to a drop in the positive rate below 1%, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) withdrew all COVID-19 restrictions in the Union Territory on Friday. The Delhi night curfew will be abolished on Monday.
"The fine for not wearing a mask has been cut from Rs 2,000 to Rs 500," stated Arvind Kejriwal, the national capital's Chief Minister.
The pandemic surge has come down to an effective rate in the last few weeks. Considering this situation, the national capital's government has decided to lift all Covid related restrictions.
The DDMA meeting, chaired by national capital's Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, decided to abolish all COVID-19 prohibitions in Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other senior Delhi government officials such as Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Revenue Minister Kailash Gehlot NITI Aayog member VK Paul, and Health Department employees attended the meeting.
"Except for meetings connected to political, social, cultural, and other such events," a Delhi government official told PTI earlier, "the remaining restrictions are expected to be eased as the Covid situation has greatly improved."
Many commercial associations, including the Chamber of Trade and Industry, have petitioned the national capital's LG to reduce COVID-19 regulations, claiming a decrease in the number of cases in the city. Adesh Gupta, the Delhi BJP president, also wrote to Baijal, pleading with him to allow devotees and visitors to visit temples and other religious sites in the national capital.
