Digital Desk: In Bengaluru, a farmer faced an unfortunate incident when denied entry to the Namma Metro due to his "unsuitable" attire, sparking outrage on social media. Despite possessing a valid ticket, the farmer, dressed in a white shirt and carrying a bundle of clothes on his head, was stopped at the Rajajinagar metro station security checkpoint.

A viral video captured the moment when bystander Karthik C Airani questioned the security staff's decision. He, along with another individual, argued that the farmer posed no security threat as he was only carrying clothes, not violating Bengaluru Metro rules. Eventually, the farmer was allowed to board the metro after the intervention.

The aftermath saw the dismissal of a security supervisor connected to the incident, as the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the farmer. In a statement, the BMRCL emphasized Namma Metro's inclusivity as public transport, underlining that the Rajajinagar incident was thoroughly investigated.

The incident, unfolding on the Green Line connecting Nagasandra to Silk Institute, highlights the need for sensitivity and commitment to inclusivity in public transport systems. Social media played a pivotal role in shedding light on the incident, prompting swift action and the termination of the involved security supervisor's services.
