Digital Desk: The Kamrup Metropolitan District Commissioner has officially declared May 4 a "dry day" to coincide with the vote-counting process.


Under this mandate, all liquor-establishments, including wholesale and retail liquor shops, warehouses, and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) outlets must remain closed until counting concludes.


The prohibition also extends to clubs, bars, hotels, small-scale liquor manufacturing units, and local liquor units, with the transportation of alcohol strictly forbidden.


The district administration urges full compliance from licensed traders and the general public, warning that any violations will meet with stringent legal action.
