“When every Manipuri is happy, Manipur will be happy”
Digital Desk: Amid continued efforts to restore normalcy in conflict-hit Manipur, MLA Sapam Nishikanta on 19th February lauds Chief Minister N. Biren Singh for what he describes as “sincere and determined efforts” to bring lasting peace and stability to the state.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a benefit distribution programme at the Alternative Housing Complex in Langol, Nishikanta says the Chief Minister’s approach to addressing the Manipur crisis has been commendable. He notes that the CM consistently emphasises unity among the 36 communities residing in the state and their shared responsibility to safeguard Manipur’s integrity.
Responding to discussions surrounding the proposed Cabinet meeting in Senapati district, the MLA dismisses any controversy over the venue. “Senapati is also a part of Manipur. Why shouldn’t a Cabinet meeting be held there?” he states, asserting that governance must reach every corner of the state.
He further clarifies that ministers travelling to attend the Cabinet meeting in Senapati will pass through Kangpokpi, adding that administrative processes should not be disrupted by speculation or misinformation.
Highlighting the broader message of reconciliation, Nishikanta stresses that lasting peace can only be achieved through collective harmony. “When every Manipuri is happy, Manipur will be happy,” he remarks, calling for unity and mutual trust among all communities.
