Digital Desk: Dreams do come true, and the most recent example is 14-year-old Maleesha Kharwa, who lives in Mumbai's Dharavi slums and has been chosen as the face of Forest Essentials' new campaign Yuvati Selection. This is a social effort that aims to provide poor children with access to education and awareness.

Forest Essentials shared Maleesha Kharwa's debut video as the face of their new collection, saying, "There's beauty in every step of the journey, and we're celebrating it, one ritual at a time."

Who is Maleesha Kharwa?

Maleesha is a 14-year-old girl from Mumbai's Dharavi slums who is also an aspiring model with two Hollywood film offers. Maleesha Kharwa began her adventure by creating material on Instagram. She has also been featured in a short film titled Live Your Fairytale, which uses no professional actors and depicts the experience of five slum children dining in a restaurant for the first time in their lives.

Maleesha Kharwa is also known as the 'Princess of the Slum'. "I am very happy with where I am right now," she stated in response to the new prospects in her life. People recognize me when they see me in public because of social media. They truly tell me they like me, which makes me very proud and happy."

Maleesha Kharwa was spotted by Hollywood actor Robert Hoffman in Mumbai in 2020. He then established a Go Fund Me page for Maleesha.
