The voting for the 40-member Mizoram Assembly began at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, amid strict security measures...

Digital Desk: Mizoram had a voter turnout of 69.86% as of 3:00 PM, reported the data provided by the Election Commission of India. 

According to officials, voting for the 40-member Mizoram Assembly began at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, amid strict security measures. 

"I will be the winner in these elections," Rajya Sabha MP and MNF Party candidate K Vanlalvena speaks of the assembly elections. Everyone loves me for my good work wherever I go in my constituency...The development of my constituency and employment issues will be top priorities..." he further stated.

Over 8.57 lakh voters, including 4.39 lakh women, are casting ballots to decide the fate of 174 candidates. All constituencies contain candidates from the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), the main opposition Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), and Congress.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is running candidates in 23 constituencies, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in four assembly segments, and there are 27 independent candidates.
