Digital Desk: A person by the name of MD Jia-Ul-Alim called from Pakistan and threatened to blow up the State Bank of India’s Mumbai office. The call was made to the Nariman Point branch on October 13 at around 11 a.m.

The caller introduced himself by his name and demanded a loan from the bank. He went ahead and warned the bank staff that if his demand was not met, he would blow up the office along with kidnapping and even killing the bank chairman.

"An unidentified person called up on the landline of the Nariman Point branch of SBI on October 13 at around 11 a.m. and threatened. The caller identified himself as MD Jia-Ul-Alim and said that he was speaking from Pakistan and that if he was not granted a loan at the earliest, he would kidnap the chairman of SBI and kill him. He also threatened to blow up the SBI office, "said a Mumbai Police official.

The bank immediately informed the Marine Drive Police Station and filed a complaint against the unidentified person. Upon tracing the call, it was found that the call was made from West Bengal. On the basis of the complaint, the Marine Drive Police have registered a case against the threat caller under section 506(2) of the IPC. As per reports, the investigations have begun and the caller will be arrested as soon as he is identified.
