  • Sonitpur District Commissioner Ananda Kumar Das has completed his self-enumeration for the upcoming Census 2027, setting an example for residents to participate in the crucial exercise

In a significant step towards the comprehensive Census 2027, Sonitpur District Commissioner Ananda Kumar Das on Thursday completed his self-enumeration, marking the commencement of the Houselisting Operation and Housing Census (HLO) under Phase I. The senior official utilized the dedicated online portal, se.census.gov.in, to register his details, underscoring the importance of digital participation in the national headcount.

The self-enumeration process at the district commissioner's official residence was facilitated by a team spearheaded by Sharon Thomas, who serves as the Executive Officer of Tezpur Municipal Board and also the Charge Officer for the census operations. This initiative by the district's top administrator aims to encourage widespread public engagement in the enumeration drive.

Following his registration, DC Das issued a fervent appeal to all residents of Sonitpur district. He urged them to complete their self-enumeration within the officially notified timeframe and to actively encourage family members, friends, neighbours, and colleagues to follow suit. The district administration views active participation as vital for accurate data collection.

Furthermore, the District Commissioner called upon citizens to extend their full cooperation to the enumerators who will be conducting the physical Houselisting Operation and Housing Census. This crucial field survey is scheduled to take place across the district from August 17 to September 15. Demonstrating broad administrative support, Sonitpur's Senior Superintendent of Police, Barun Purkayastha, also completed his self-enumeration shortly after the DC, reinforcing the message of collective responsibility.
