According to accounts, a police van escorted him to his apartment at 11 p.m. yesterday, after more than 45 days.

It should be noted that Shrinkhal Chaliha was re-arrested under NSA on May 3, just hours after being released on bail in an extortion case.

Chaliha informed the reporters following his re-arrest, "I was granted bail by the court after the prosecutor couldn't provide any evidence against me." Some top officials came to the jail last night and plotted against me. I was arrested again today. This is a "democracy murder." This government serves the non-Assamese people."
