"You have 80,000 police officers. what they were doing. Amritpal Singh escaped how? "Punjab government was questioned by the High Court. The court noted that the state's police had lacked intelligence in this case.

The court's statements come amid the Punjab Police's action against the Khalistan commander and members of his organisation 'Waris Punjab De'.

According to the Punjab police, they launched a significant campaign against Amritpal Singh on Saturday and were successful in apprehending 120 of his supporters.

But, when the police caught up with the elusive preacher's cavalcade in the Jalandhar district, he managed to slip through their net and escape. Amritpal Singh, who the government accuses of being a Khalistani-Pakistan spy, vanished from Jalandhar on a motorcycle on Saturday night.

Since a few years ago, Singh has been active in Punjab, where he is frequently accompanied by armed supporters. His fans refer to him as "Bhindranwale 2.0" and believe that he is a devotee of the terrorist and Khalistani separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

The crackdown comes one month after Amritpal Singh and his supporters stormed a police station brandishing weapons and swords to have one of his aides released. Six police officers were hurt during the conflict.
