Guwahati: The existence of the Congress party is in threat both at the national and state level. Already clash between the leaders has been reported in Punjab Congress now. The same repeats at Assam Congress after MLA of Boko constituency Nandita Das and MLA of Chaygaon constituency Rekibuddin Ahmed enter a war of words during the ongoing Assam assembly.
The war between the two Congressmen showed the ongoing bitterness inside the party, which forced some of the Congress leaders to join other political parties, especially the BJP. Moreover, this war reflected the instability and indiscipline within the party.
As per reports, in the ongoing Assam assembly, Boko MLA Nandita Das was involved in a verbal fight with Chaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed when he claimed that 13 Garo candidates from his constituency cleared the TET exam.

Refuting this, Nandita claimed that the students belonged to her constituency and not Rekibuddin’s. This is how both the Congressmen were involved in the verbal fight for the first time in the winter session.
On the other hand, Congress has already lost its foundation after several Congress MLA including Rupjyoti Kurmi, now BJP MLA from Mariani Constituency, Sushanta Borgohain of Thowra constituency, left Congress and joined the ruling party.
Moreover, on the first day of the Assam assembly, Congress MLA Sashikanta Das touched the feet of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and expressed his desire to develop his constituency in collaboration with the government.
4 Congress MLAs wish to join the ruling party
The differences within the party became clear after the Congressmen continued to have a war of words on the Assam assembly. Now, BJP MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi also hinted at the collapse in Congress on Wednesday.
Kurmi addressing the media, said that 4 congress leaders will join the BJP and AGP parties.
“A total of 4 Congress MLAs have hinted at the unwanted corruption within the Congress party after that they expressed their desire to join the ruling party very soon.” he said.
Notably, The Congress party organized a three-day special camp last week for the MLAs and leaders where senior Congress leaders like K C Venugopal and P Chidambaram attended it. Moreover, Rahul Gandhi also joined it virtually.
However, even after all such initiatives, the ongoing division between the leaders has raised concerns for Congress.
