Digital Desk: A large shell believed to be from World War II was discovered in Singri village of Lekhapani in Assam, triggering concern among local residents.The bullet shell, suspected to have belonged to a battle tank, was unearthed while excavation work was underway at the shop premises of a local resident, identified as Mohammed Ismail. As per reports, the object was found buried underground as workers were digging the site.


This is not the first such discovery in the area. Earlier as well, explosives dating back to World War II had been recovered from the same locality, highlighting the region’s historical significance and the potential presence of unexploded wartime remnants.


Police and District Administration are expected to take necessary safety measures following the latest discovery.
