Once again, the heart’s trying to recover those leisurely days and nights/just sitting, thinking, and dreaming of the beloved.

Mirza Ghalib, whose couplet serves as the song's opening line, is largely responsible for one of Gulzar's most enduring love songs. The couplet was expanded with lyrical skill by Gulzar by replacing the word "Jee" with "Dil," and it was written in the sweet Raag Keervani by Madan Mohan.

Bhupinder Singh's slightly sluggish, languid voice, which moves a few seconds behind the thought, was incorporated into this almost flawless fusion of poetry and melody. It was a distinctive expression that wasn't typical of male playback singers of the era.

Singh, who inspired millions with songs like this one and others, passed away on Monday night after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 82 years old and had spent the prior 10 days in the hospital.

The Director of Criticare Asia Hospital, Dr. Deepak Namjoshi, stated, "On Monday morning, his condition deteriorated, and we had to place him on a ventilator." At 7:45 o'clock, he had a cardiac arrest and passed away.

Singh, who was born in Amritsar, was raised in West Patel Nagar in Delhi.

He began his career with Doordarshan and All India Radio in Delhi. At a gathering in Delhi, Madan Mohan overheard Singh and suggested that he try his luck as a composer for motion pictures. With Mohammad Rafi, Manna Dey, and Talat Mahmood in "Haqeeqat," he gave Singh his debut break. The song, "Hoke majboor mujhe," received a lot of attention.

He then continued with other songs like "Do diwane shahar mein." Among them are Ek akela is shehar mein, Kisi ko mukammal, Kisi nazar ko tera intezaar aaj bhi, and Kisi nazar ko tera intezaar aaj bhi. Naam gum jayega and Meethe bol bole

Later in life, he also began singing ghazals, frequently on stage with his wife, singer Mitali Singh.

We lost a great singer whom the entire nation will miss and will remember forever.
