Bengaluru: After the Karnataka cabinet meeting, Chief Minister, BS Yediyurappa has announced lockdown across the state from April 27 at 6pm till May 9 to reduce the number of corona cases hiking. Essential shops will remain open from 6 am to 10 am every day. Because of the rising cases in the state the government has also announced no public transport will be available.

Karnataka reported another biggest single day spike of 34,804 new Covid-19 cases, taking the cases to 13.39 lakh. The day also saw 6,982 patients getting discharged after proper recovery.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announces free vaccines for thoses between 18-45 years in the state. BS Yediyurappa had on Thursday approved the purchase of one crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines at a cost of Rs 400 crore.

“Covid-19 vaccine will be provided free of cost to citizens between 18-44 years of age at all government vaccination centers across Karnataka. Union Govt vaccination drive for citizens above 45 years of age will continue. I urge all eligible to register themselves from April 28”, Yediyurappa.
