Guwahati: In the third phase of the Assam Legislative Assembly election a total number of 44 transgender voters will cast their vote today i.e, Tuesday, April 6 for the four constituencies of Kamrup (Metro).

The Gauhati High Court had directed the government of Assam to make separate arrangements for transgender voters at the polling booths.
In the third phase of Assembly Elections in Assam, all four constituencies of Kamrup (metro) district will go to the polls. These are Gauhati East, Gauhati West, Dispur and Jalukbari.
A total of 124 transgender persons cast their vote in the first phase of Assam assembly elections in 47 constituencies whereas; in second phase 135 transgender persons casted their vote in 39 constituencies.
