Digital Desk: Today Assam Chief Minister himanta Biswa Sarma, announced today that 4,369 candidates will be appointed to Grade IV posts, marking the second round of appointments in this category. The state had promised a total of 1 lakh jobs, and this year, 13 lakh candidates applied for Grade IV positions, with 9,12,017 participating in the selection process.

The CM highlighted that 1.5 lakh jobs have already been provided without any legal disputes. To facilitate transfers, the government will launch a new portal called “Swagat Sathi” from 1st February , allowing employees to request transfers within their districts online. Last year, over 10,000 transfers were successfully processed through this system.

Addressing social concerns, the CM urged young Assamese couples to marry within a year of getting jobs and have children early to address the declining population of the state. He pointed out that in some areas of Upper Assam, very few young girls are seen on the streets, while in regions like Dhubri and Goalpara, families have 7–8 children.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need to increase the Assamese population to secure the community’s future.
