Digital Desk : Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Assam's special director general (Law and Order), said the 13 cadres surrendered their weapons on Sunday in Bokajan, Karbi Anglong, in front of top officials from the Assam Police, Assam Rifles, and the 20th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
According to the
police, the AANLA cadre surrendered four AK series rifles, four pistols, one
revolver, and several rounds of ammunition.

Singh later tweeted that the AANLA cadres were "motivated by the chief
minister's demand for peace."

Rifles under the aegis of Spear Corps in cooperation with Assam Police
successfully encouraged the homecoming of 13 active cadres of the AANLA,"
Assam Rifles said in a statement following the arms laying ceremony. Four AK
series rifles, five handguns, and other live ammo were surrendered by the
cadres."
