Digital Desk : Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Assam's special director general (Law and Order), said the 13 cadres surrendered their weapons on Sunday in Bokajan, Karbi Anglong, in front of top officials from the Assam Police, Assam Rifles, and the 20th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

According to the police, the AANLA cadre surrendered four AK series rifles, four pistols, one revolver, and several rounds of ammunition.

GP Singh later tweeted that the AANLA cadres were "motivated by the chief minister's demand for peace."

"6 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Spear Corps in cooperation with Assam Police successfully encouraged the homecoming of 13 active cadres of the AANLA," Assam Rifles said in a statement following the arms laying ceremony. Four AK series rifles, five handguns, and other live ammo were surrendered by the cadres."

"With the goal of promoting regional peace and harmony, we welcome youth who have gone down the wrong path back into the mainstream." "We applaud their decision and wish them happiness and peace," Assam Rifles remarked.

Continuing our peace march, I'm happy to report that 13 members of the All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA) surrendered today at Bokajan PS in Karbi Anglong in the presence of Assam Police.
