Digital Desk: The founder and president of Raijor Dal and Sivasagar MLA, Akhil Gogoi, has criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over his remarks that the Assam government has no authority to bring the accused from Singapore or to investigate the crime scene in Singapore in connection with singer Zubeen Garg's death.
Akhil Gogoi has accused the Chief Minister of showing lack of interest in completing the investigation process because Zubeen Garg had been opposing the BJP government.
Furthermore, Akhil Gogoi claims that the Chief Minister does not want to proceed with the investigation due to his close ties with the family of Shyamkanu Mahanta, the organiser of North East Festival and one of the accused in the death probe.
In addition, Akhil Gogoi demands that CM Sarma publicly disclose the truth regarding the allegations against his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, who allegedly continued running a fashion show at the North East Festival even after Zubeen Garg's death.
Akhil Gogoi demands that the investigation to be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the supervision of the High Court to ensure transparency and justice.
