the Yamuna River in Delhi went above the danger line. After three straight days
of rain fell in the nation's capital, the river's water level rose to 206.30
meters.
Yamuna's danger mark is 205.33 meters.
The Northern Railways ceased rail movement over the Old Yamuna Bridge as of 4
PM on Tuesday due to the threat posed by the rising water level.
Consequently, the Northern Railways
have cancelled or redirected a number of short-terminated and short-originated
trains.
Trains from Delhi to Saharanpur
Special, Delhi to Saharanpur Express, Delhi to Aligarh Special, Shamli to Delhi
Special, Aligarh to Delhi Special, and Panipat to Delhi Special are among those
that have been cancelled (JCO 28.09.22).
The
Delhi-Kathgodam SK Express, the Delhi-Katihar Champaran Humsafar Express, the
Jaiselmer-Jammu Tawi Shalimar Express, the Amritsar-Katihar Express, the
Delhi-Haridwar Express, and the Delhi-Kathgodam Express via New Delhi-Sahibabad
Express have all been diverted, according to an intimation from Northern
Railways.
