On August 26, live-streamed hearings before the ceremonial bench regarding former Chief Justice of India (CJI) N V Ramana's retirement date were held.

Digital Desk: The Supreme Court started live-streaming its hearings on Tuesday, marking a first. On the official website of the government, the Livestream is accessible.

The project is being managed by the National Informatics Center. The new approach was tried on Sunday and Monday, according to sources who spoke to The Indian Express, and the outcomes were satisfactory.

On August 26, live-streamed hearings before the ceremonial bench regarding former Chief Justice of India (CJI) N V Ramana's retirement date were held.

Significantly, the then-CJI Dipak Misra had made the historic ruling on the live telecast or webcast of significant proceedings on issues of constitutional importance on September 27, 2018, and had said that "sunlight is the finest disinfectant."

In a unanimous decision made at a recent full court meeting presided over by the current CJI, UU Lalit, the supreme court decided to webcast all constitution bench sessions beginning on September 27 in a unanimous decision made at a recent full court meeting.

Interestingly, the SC will soon have its own platform for live-streaming, according to the current CJI, who is in charge of a three-judge bench. The attorney had urged the court to secure copyright if it intended to stream the hearings live on YouTube.

According to reports cited by news agency PTI, the Supreme Court may webcast the proceedings over YouTube and then host them on its server. The proceedings will be easily accessible on mobile devices, laptops, and desktop PCs.
