Sonakshi expressed her uncompromising view, stating, “A good actor will always find work

Digital Desk: Sonakshi Sinha, renowned for her role as Fareedan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, recently shared her stance on intimate film scenes. Despite her 35-film career, she remains steadfast in her discomfort with such scenes, asserting that she hasn't compromised her principles for any role.

In an interview with E-Times, Sonakshi expressed her uncompromising view, stating, “A good actor will always find work. Throughout my career, I've been clear with directors about my reservations regarding intimate scenes. I've made it known that if they choose to proceed with me, they must respect my boundaries or seek someone else for the role.”

Reflecting on her career choices, Sonakshi acknowledged the responsibility artists carry, especially concerning their influence on others. While she admitted to participating in significant projects earlier in her career, she emphasised the importance of growth and learning from constructive criticism.

Heeramandi, set amidst India’s struggle for independence, portrays the lives of courtesans in Lahore, exploring themes of love and freedom. Alongside Sonakshi, the series features a talented ensemble including Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal.

In her upcoming venture, Kakuda, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Sonakshi ventures into the horror-comedy genre alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem.
