Los Angeles: The 63rd Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles saw many firsts as artists such as Beyonce and Taylor Swift made histories. With many remarkable artists winning the Grammys for the first time, it was a spectacular day, especially for the women artists.

Beyonce was able to make history by being the first female artist to win the most number of Grammys with her 28th win being the best R&B performance for ‘Black Parade’. Beyonce surpassed singer Alison Krauss, who formerly held the title.

Beyonce also swept other titles such as Best Music Video for ‘Brown Skinned Girls’, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for ‘Savage’ with Megan Thee Stallion.

“As an artist I believe it’s my job, and all of our jobs, to reflect time and it’s been such a difficult time”, Beyonce stated onstage after winning the Best R&B performance.

It was another history-making night for Taylor Swift as she became the first woman to win Album of the Year thrice.  Swift secured her third win with her album ‘Folklore’. Her previous two wins for Album of the Year were for her albums ‘Fearless’ and ‘1989’.

“We just want to thank the fans”, Swift said.

In addition to Swift, the other big two Grammys went to last year’s big winner Billie Eilish who won Record of the Year for ‘Everything I Wanted’ and H.E.R who won Song of the Year for ‘I Can’t Breathe.

On the other hand, Megan Thee Stallion and Harry Styles were able to win their first Grammys. While Harry won the Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Watermelon’, it was Megan who was the big winner as she swept three Grammys – Best New Artist, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for ‘Savage’.

It was a night of another first as BTS, the blockbuster South Korean boy group became the first Korean pop group to ever receive a major Grammy nomination. BTS was nominated for Best Duo Pop/Group performance but lost the title to Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga’s ‘Rain on Me’.
