The CID plans to summon the accused for questioning and is continuing its search to identify and arrest those behind the racket
Digital Desk: In a major breakthrough, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has uncovered a scam involving 50 candidates who attempted to secure teaching jobs using fake degrees . The candidates, who are residents of Morigaon, Nagaon, South Salmara and Goalpara, had allegedly submitted forged undergraduate and post graduate certificates reported granted by Techno Global University, the state of Madhya Pradesh.
All the candidates had successfully cleared the written examination held in January 2025. However, after verification , it was found that the documents were fraudulent by CID. Immediately, a case 15/2025) has been filed and investigations are ongoing.
As per sources, it was revealed that an intertwined web of brokers helped in gaining these counterfeit degrees. The CID will interrogate the accused and is on the pursuit of ascertaining the number of people involved in the racket whom it is seeking to nab. The government has promised to take stern measures since this situation has caused great concern on increased cases of forgery during recruitment procedures and how this influences the educational standards.
