Digital Desk: The Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police has arrested a 62-year-old man for stealing Rs 5.17 crore from Britannia Industries Private Limited.

Anil Sethi, the accused, lives in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi. He managed a logistics firm for which Britannia provided services. The agency was given commodities made by Britannia to sell to various distributors and wholesalers.

In 2018-2019, the organization received complaints from several distributors about its inadequate service. Britannia opted to choose a different agency as a result of these accusations. Sethi's agency was tasked with preparing a handover, which was audited.

The audit discovered a shortage of 62,419 cartons of Britannia's goods valued over Rs 5 million. Britannia filed a complaint with the Delhi Police in response to this discovery.
