The Adobe Photoshop desktop client, on the other hand, is an incredibly feature-rich and powerful tool. Digital Desk: Adobe is apparently testing a free online version of Photoshop and intends to make it available to the general public, with the goal of introducing more people to the industry-standard tool. According to The Verge, Adobe is presently testing a "freemium" version of Photoshop in Canada, where users may utilize a free Adobe account to access Photoshop on their browser. It intends to eliminate these functions in the future and make them available only to paying users. Even so, users will have access to enough tools to accomplish what Adobe believes to be basic Photoshop duties.

Photoshop's initial web version was published in October of last year. It was a stripped-down version of the desktop app that could be used to make basic modifications, with layers and certain fundamental editing tools included. The Adobe Photoshop desktop client, on the other hand, is an incredibly feature-rich and powerful tool. Instead, the firm positioned it as a collaboration tool, allowing artists to share photographs with others and collaborators to add remarks and minor changes before handing it back to the artist.

But, since then, the business has made a number of efforts to expand the app's use cases and allow it to do more than just collaborate. One example is how, in the past, users had to share documents to the web from the desktop programme, but now, any Photoshop subscriber can log in to the online app and create a new document without having to upload one.

According to the source, Adobe intends to make the online version of the app more accessible in order to entice customers to upgrade to the full version later. With mobile apps like Photoshop Express and Adobe Fresco, the company had already used a similar strategy. Offering a free web version of Photoshop could be a watershed moment, since it allows users to access the programme from devices that would otherwise be too underpowered to run Photoshop, such as Chromebooks, which are commonly used in schools across the United States.

The business has not yet said when this freemium version will become more widely available, but it has continued to improve Photoshop for the web with new features. Tools like refine edge, curves, the dodge and burn tools, and the ability to convert Smart Objects are among the new features. On mobile, the web app will now allow users to review and comment on photographs.
