In a rain-shortened encounter, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first.

Talking about the match between SriLanka and Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan (86 not out) and Iftikhar Ahmed (47) put on a 108-run stand to lead Pakistan to a dominant 252 for 7 after rain forced the match to be truncated to 42 overs per side.

Kusal Mendis (91) led an exemplary batting performance alongside Charith Asalanka (49 not out) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (48) as Sri Lanka reached the goal in 42 overs.

In the vital line-up, Abdullah Shafique (52 off 69 balls) had a 64-run stand with skipper Babar Azam (29). But it was Rizwan and Iftikhar who gave the finishing touch, pushing Pakistan over the 250-run barrier.

Maheesh Theekshana dismissed Mohammad Nawaz (12) on the last ball before the interval with Mohammad Rizwan (22) in the centre.

Sri Lanka made an early inroad, as Fakhar Zaman was cheaply taken out, with Babar and Shafique constructing Pakistan's innings.

Imam ul Haq, Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, and Salman Ali Agha all missed out and were replaced by Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Haris, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Wasim, and Zaman Khan.

Sri Lanka's anticipation showed towards the conclusion of a two-wicket triumph over Pakistan at the R. Premadasa Stadium here on Thursday, despite a professional approach in the run-chase.
