Digital Desk: A "highly radicalized" person from Bihar was detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly participating in the internet dissemination of hate speech intended to foment "jihad" against India, an official said on Wednesday.

According to an NIA spokeswoman, searches carried out in the east Champaran region of Bihar on Tuesday resulted in the detention of Ali Asgar, also known as Abdullah Bihari, a resident of Siswaniya village.

According to the spokesperson, Asgar was a close friend of previously detained accused individuals and was discovered utilizing encrypted programs to connect covertly with other friends in Bangladesh and India.

The case involves the detention of six active JMB cadres, including three illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from Aishbagh, Bhopal, and Madhya Pradesh, who were found to be involved in spreading JMB plans or ideology and inspiring young people to engage in "jihad" against India, according to an NIA spokesperson.

The anti-terror investigation agency added that the case was re-registered by the NIA on April 5 after being initially lodged on March 14 at the Bhopal police station.

According to the spokesperson, "Asgar is a highly radicalized individual engaged in jihad propagation by publishing hatred and damning information online in various groups on social media platforms."
