Manpreet Singh, the team captain for the men's hockey team, and Olympic medalist PV Sindhu are in charge of the Indian delegation. At the opening ceremony, Neeraj Chopra was scheduled to carry the Indian flag, but the global athletics championships silver medalist got hurt. He was compelled to withdraw from CWG 2022 as a result of the injury.

Drummer-percussionist Abraham Paddy Tetteh and Indian classical vocalist and composer Ranjana Ghatak earlier performed at the Alexander Stadium in a segment intended to emphasize the city's diversity.
